William H. "Bill" Case's Obituary
William H. “Bill” Case, 95, of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2015, at his home surrounded by his family.
Bill was born March 6, 1920, in Battle Creek, MI to Burt N. and Ruth (Exner) Case. He is a U.S. Navy Veteran. He married Jeanne L. Cutshall on May 27, 1944 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She passed away September 29, 1996. Bill received a Masters in Food Science from Michigan State University. He was a food technologist for many organizations including ADM and later was a Horticulturist for the Decatur Park District. He was a member of the Golden K and past member of the American Legion Post 105. Bill loved gardening and photography.
He is survived by his two children, Jeffrey Case of Decatur and Melissa Harris of Tucson, AZ; his two granddaughters, Lindsay (Robert) Creviston of LaPlace, IL and Sarah (Zachary) Roberts of Decatur; his three great-grandchildren, Connor, Emma and Anna; his brother, Thomas (Carol) Case of Galesburg, MI; his sister, Cara Milks of Kalamazoo, MI.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jeanne and three sisters, Patricia Stafford, Jean Smurlo and Mary Chase.
The family would like to give special thanks to the Decatur Memorial Hospital Hospice and his caregivers April, Tonya and Heather and especially Yolanda and Jamie.
Memorial services to celebrate the life of William H. “Bill” Case will be 11 a.m. Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home.
