William "Scott" Bork's Obituary
Decatur-William “Scott” Bork, 42, of Sarasota, Florida formerly of Decatur, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Sarasota Memorial Hospital due to an undetected heart condition.
Scott was born July 18, 1974 in Decatur, Illinois, the son of William H. and Ruth A. (Kaufman) Bork III. He graduated from MacArthur High School Class of 1992. He attended Millikin University for two years where he was a member of SAE Fraternity. He then transferred and graduated from the University of Illinois Springfield. He owned and operated his own web design company. Scott was an avid soccer player. He played from the age of five through college for Millikin and UIS. His former coach at UIS Aydin Gonulsen asked Scott to be his assistant coach at Blackburn College. Scott was an avid fan of Manchester United, Cubs, Bears, Blackhawks, and Illini. He had a zest for life. Scott was an organ donor and was able to help others and will live on by his selfless act.
Scott leaves behind his parents William and Ruth, sister Mia Sloan and husband Brent, nephews Noah, Jack, Isaac, and Bo Sloan, niece Zella Sloan, and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Scott was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents and his beloved dog Scully.
The family will be hosting a memorial service to celebrate Scott’s life 11:00 AM Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 2155 N Oakland Ave, Decatur. They will receive friends one hour prior to the services. Memorials are suggested to the family in care of Ruth Bork.
