William S. Lewis' Obituary
Decatur-William S. 'Bill' Lewis, 67, of Decatur, went to be with his Heavenly Father at 8:18 a.m. Thursday, June 28, 2012 in Decatur Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family and friends.
Services to celebrate Bill's life will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at Heartland Community Church, 3253 N Brush College, with Pastor Joe Bowman officiating.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday, July 2, 2012 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Burial with military honors and 'Flight Home' Ceremony will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Care Specialists of Central Illinois.
Bill was born November 19, 1944 in Key West, Florida, the son of Randall and Mary (Henwood) Lewis. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was previously employed with Caterpillar retiring after thirty-two and half years of service. He then was the owner/operator of Lewis Lawn Service. He was a member of Heartland Community Church and the Road Riders for Jesus Motorcycle Ministry. Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, spending time with his grandchildren, and his morning coffee club. He married Madonna Christie July 12, 1964.
He leaves behind his wife; Madonna, sons; William R. (Jill) Lewis of Decatur and Steven Lewis of Decatur, grandchildren; Austin Lewis (Megan Siron) and Kyle Ahlfield (Erin Harris), brothers and sisters; James (Janie) Lewis of Decatur, Donna (Ed) Clark of Downs, Carol (fiancée Tommy) Vieth of Newport Richey, Florida, Karen (Scott) Hill of Dent, Minnesota, Richard (Sherri) Lewis of Bloomington, and Rhonda Teel of Decatur, and several nieces and nephews.
He was reunited in Heaven with his parents and sister Marilyn Lewis.
