William Michael "Mike" Williams' Obituary
Decatur-William Michael “Mike” Williams, 70, of Decatur passed away Saturday, September 5, 2015 in his home.
Mike was born July 31, 1945 in Decatur, Illinois the son of Rawley Eugene and Mary Jane (Camerer) Williams. He proudly served his country in U.S. Army in Vietnam. He graduated from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. Mike, along with his sister Karen, owned and operated the Decatur Type Setting Company, a family business that was established during the depression. He was a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, American Legion Castle Williams Post 105, and the VFW. He enjoyed building things, doing work around the house, and yardwork. He married Ann Goecks September 9, 1967.
He leaves behind his wife Ann, children Jennifer Stringer (Chris), Bryan Williams (Mary), and Noah Williams, brother Ken Williams (Lynn), sisters Karen Williams and Sally McLaughlin (Tim), and grandchildren Gabe, Grace, Jeremy, Samantha, Scott, and Chloe.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son David Williams.
Services to celebrate Mike’s life will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 12, 2015 at the First Church of Christ, Scientist, 510 W. William St. Decatur. Private burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517 Topeka, Kansas, 66675.
