William "Bill" Milburn Neal's Obituary
Decatur – William “Bill” Milburn Neal, 85, of Decatur, IL, passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Heartland Healthcare, Decatur.
Bill was born March 19, 1933, in Bement, IL, the son of John and Mary (Shonkwiler) Neal. A U.S. Navy veteran, and member of First Christian Church in Canton, Bill worked for AT&T retiring after 28 years. Bill loved to golf, bowl and shoot pool. He was a 32nd degree mason and member of the Fraternal Lodge #0058 in Monticello, Valley of Danville Scottish Rite, member of the Moose, Elks, KWVA and American Legion. He married M. Sue Legg and she passed away. He then married Margie (Peterson) Beckham on August 4, 2017.
Surviving is his wife, Margie of Decatur; sons: Mike (Trish) Neal of Aiken, SC, and Mark Neal of Montreal, Canada; daughter, Lisa (Dan) Darsham of Onarga; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren; step-children: Mark (Michelle) Beckham, Kim Perry, Kelly Beckham, and Lisa (Jim) Dietrich; six step-grandchildren and nine step-great grandchildren.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, three brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be 10 am, Saturday, December 15, 2018, at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Burial with military rites will follow in Graceland Cemetery.
