William L. Morgan's Obituary
Decatur – William Lee “Bill” Morgan, 90, of Forsyth, passed away Friday, January 17, 2025, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Bill was born on August 24, 1934, in Springfield, IL, the son of James Bernard and Elyda (Shannon) Morgan. A US Army veteran, Bill worked as a pipefitter at A.E. Staley for 52 years. He loved to buy cars that needed work so he could fix them and resell them. Bill married Mary Wilson on October 17, 1959, in Herrick, IL.
Surviving is his wife, Mary of Forsyth; children: William “Bill” Morgan II of Forsyth, and Denise Morgan of MN; grandchildren: Brandon Morgan and Nicolas Morgan-Sivongsay; brother Charles Sexton; other relatives and friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
Visitation will be from 5 pm to 7 pm, Monday, January 20, 2025, at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 10 am, Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at the funeral home. Military rites followed by entombment will be at the Star of Hope Mausoleum at Graceland Cemetery.
