William "Billy" Riley Ragan's Obituary
William “Billy” Riley Ragan, 67, of Elwin, passed away Saturday, March 4, 2017, at his home.
Bill was born October 10, 1949, in Pana, IL to Marvin and Imogene (Zahradka) Ragan.
He was a teacher at Argenta-Oreana in Special Education and later he earned a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering while he was a Supervisor of Materials at Caterpillar, until his retirement. He was an avid Cub/Bears fan, loved his music and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie; two children, William R. (Kären) Ragan III of Seattle, WA and Lisa (Anthony) Goodman of Mt. Zion, IL; one step son, Todd Chatham of Nashville, TN; six grandchildren, Brooke, Bree, Riley, Annika, Kieler and Evan; one brother, John (Jane) Ragan of LaFayette, IN; his best companion, Lucy; and four close friends, Ed, Walt, Stinky and Mark; and close cousin, Chuck Zahradka.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; one sister; and first wife, Carol Ann Flesch.
Honoring Bill Ragan’s wishes, cremation services will be provided by the Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 2091 N. Oakland Ave. Decatur, IL. No services are planned at this time.
