William Daniel Rule's Obituary
Decatur-William Daniel “Bill” Rule, 97, of Decatur, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Imboden Creek Living Center in Decatur.
Bill was born June 1, 1917 in Dalton City, Illinois, the son of Charles Benson and Nellie (Campbell) Rule. He was previously employed with ADM, retiring with over forty years of service. He was a member of Central Christian Church and ADM Retirees and was an avid golfer. Bill could fix anything. He never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He married Mary Alice Dixson September 9, 1939. They shared over seventy-five years together.
Bill leaves behind his wife Mary Alice, sons Larry Rule (Marsha) of Decatur and Daniel (Lori) Rule of Decatur, daughters Sandra (Don) Walker of Decatur and Nancy Rule White of Decatur, thirteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Bill was reunited in Heaven with his parents, brother Bob Rule of Bethany, and sisters Maxine Glan of Heyworth and Opal Warren of Jackson, Mississippi.
Services to celebrate Bill’s life will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Central Christian Church, 650 W. William St. Decatur. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday, January 26, 2015 at the church. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
