Thoughts and prayers to Cheryl and family. We will miss our homer brother. Bill had such a gentle soul. As a teeny bopper I remember walking around the circle at ISSCS on Legion Day one year (I was around 13 and Bill was probably 17,) and this really good looking older boy stopped to talk to me. Yes, it was Bill and he was so sweet and nice. I couldn't believe he would take the time to speak to this little tomboy girl. I remember thinking his girlfriend was very lucky. What a gem. Lit a candle in memory of William Schmidt
Bill was not only my brother, as we were growing up, but also my protector, confidant, partner in crime and my hero. We were inseparable at one time and continued to be close. I will miss him greatly!
