William J. Stoutenborough's Obituary
Decatur-William J. Stoutenborough, 85, of Decatur, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Heartland of Decatur.
Bill was born February 16, 1930 in Decatur, Illinois, the son of Glen and Louise (Beard) Stoutenborough. He proudly served his country in the USMC during the Korean War. He was previously employed as a driver with Meadow Gold. Bill then owned and operated the Blu-Mo Restaurant in Blue Mound. After that he got his realtor’s license and worked for Brown and Massey. He then moved to Missouri where he developed a subdivision. He enjoyed farming, raising cattle, and traveling. Bill married Shirley Rentfro September 10, 1955. They shared over fifty-nine years together.
Bill leaves behind his wife Shirley of Decatur, children Sandra Kay Hobson and husband Michael of Fort Calhoun, Nebraska, William Mark Stoutenborough and wife Debbie of Cabool, Missouri, and Michael Vernon Stoutenborough of Decatur, sister Patricia Houk, ten grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and brother Robert Stoutenborough.
Services to celebrate Bill’s life will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be at Graceland Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Homeward Bound.
