William Wooters' Obituary
William Robert Bob Wooters, 82, of Mt. Zion, IL died 4:16 PM January 30, 2018 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur, IL.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday February 5, 2018 at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home.
Private family graveside services will be at Point Pleasant Cemetery.
Memorials: St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital or Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.
Bob was born October 6, 1935 in Moweaqua, IL the son of William Alfred and Mary Ellen (Buoy) Wooters. He married Charlene O Whitney on July 9, 1955 in Decatur, IL. She preceded him in death on November 17, 2006.
He worked 38 years as a lab technician for USI Chemical. He spent many years serving as a volunteer firefighter and EMT for Long Creek Township Fire Department. He had attained the rank of Chief. He was also a certified instructor with Illinois Fire Fighter’s Association.
During his leisure, Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating.
Bob leaves behind to help cherish his memory his children, William Robert Bud Wooters of Decatur, Jeri Wooters of Mt. Zion, James Douglas Wooters and his wife Rebecca of Decatur; four grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
