Decatur-Willis 'Major' Johnson, 95, of Decatur, passed away at 7:55 a.m. Saturday, June 05, 2010 at Heartland of Decatur.
Graveside services to celebrate Willis' life will be 2 p.m. Thursday, June 10, 2010 at North Fork Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Willis was born December 20, 1914 in Decatur, the son of Willis and Louise (Schuman) Johnson. He proudly served his country in the USAF retiring as a Major after twenty-five years of service. He was also a veteran of W.W. II and Korea. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, and fishing. He married his wife Catherine September 14, 1986. She preceded him in death.
He leaves behind his brothers; Delmar and wife Lea of Antelope, California, Roger and wife Betty of Eugene, Oregon, and Marlin of Eugene, Oregon, sister; Delores Fleming of Monticello, and twenty-two nieces and nephews.
He was reunited in heaven with his parents, wife, brothers; Charles, Maurice, and Everett, and sisters; Wanda and Adalene.
