Willis Powell's Obituary
Willis Powell, 74, of Decatur, IL, passed away at 12:15 P.M. on Saturday, August 30, 2025, in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Willis was born on September 25, 1950, in Como, MS, the son of Herman Jack Powell and Lucille (Wilbourn) Powell. He married Sharon Kay Jordan on November 6, 2010. She survives him.
Willis loved to go fishing. He also had a wonderful, outgoing personality and had a great sense of humor, kidding all the people he would talk to. He will be very missed by his loving family.
He is survived by his children: Frederick Powell Memphis, Tennessee; Robert Powell Memphis, Tennessee; Jammie Minor Indiana; Nate Minor Decatur, Illinois
Adrian (Tonia) Minor Atlanta Georgia; Andrea (Julian) Carson Decatur, Illinois
Jeanette Powell Memphis, Tennessee; Liz Powell Memphis, Tennessee and grandchildren.
Willis is preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters: Christana Floyd, Marvin Powell, Bernadine Hughes, Clarence Powell, Herman Powell, Jr, John Powell, Roger Powell, Willie Powell.
A Homegoing Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, September 19, 2025, at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home, with visitation from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. The entombment will be at Pieta in Graceland Cemetery.
