Wilma Lorraine Volyes' Obituary
Decatur-Wilma Lorraine Voyles, 87, passed away July 22, 2014 in Idaho Falls, Idaho July 22, 2014.
She was born at home September 19, 1926 to Hovey and Muriel Stephens in Decatur, Illinois. She graduated from Decatur High School in 1944 and was briefly married. Professionally, she was employed with General Electric and retired from Archer Daniel Midland after eighteen and a half years of service. Upon retirement, Wilma lovingly cared for her mother, father and Down’s-syndrome younger brother.
Wilma is survived by her daughter Juliana (Voyles) Hendrix, son-in-law Bruce and two grandchildren Blake and Hayli.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and one sister.
Mother, you were caring loving, compassionate, giving, understanding, creative, intelligent, witty, a writer of poetry, and hardworking. You raised me in the knowledge of Jesus Christ and his love with encouragement everyday.
I will miss how much you loved me and the times we prayed together.
No goodbyes…for we will see each other later!
Graveside services to celebrate Wilma’s life will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Graceland Cemetery in Decatur, Illinois.
