Wilma Wells' Obituary
Decatur – Wilma W. Wells, 91, of Decatur, passed away at 12:40 pm Friday, July 17, 2009 at her residence.
Services to celebrate Wilma’s life will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, July 24, 2009 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Montgomery officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Interment with the “Flight Home” Ceremony will be at Graceland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Glaucoma Research Foundation, 251 Post Street, Suite 600, San Francisco, CA 94108. Wilma was born on March 30, 1918 in Witt, Illinois, the daughter of William H. and Florence E. (Govaia) McKinney. She married Gerald E. Wells on June 25, 1940 in St. Charles, MO. He preceded her in death on January 8, 1994. Wilma graduated from Mt. Zion High School in 1936. After graduation she moved to Decatur and worked at F.W. Woolworth Company as a buyer.
She will be greatly missed by her one son: Stephen (Julia) Wells of Loveland, Colorado, one daughter: Jerri (Tom) Stewart of Assumption, one sister: June Streeval of Decatur, four grandchildren: Don (Tammy) Stewart, Stephanie (Les) Bright, Michael (Tricia) Stewart, and Jeff Stewart, six great-grandchildren: Kelli Bright, Allison Bright, and Zac Bright, Megan Stewart, Quinn Stewart, and Jessica Stewart.
She was reunited in Heaven with her husband: Gerald, parents, and three brothers.
