Zelda Faye Kinney's Obituary
Decatur-Zelda Faye Kinney, 93, of Decatur, passed away at 1:00 a.m. Thursday, February 3, 2011 at Aspen Ridge Care Centre.
Graveside services to celebrate Zelda's life will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 8, 2011at Boiling Springs Cemetery with the 'Flight Home' Ceremony to conclude the service. Family requests casual attire. Memorial contributions may be made to First Lutheran Church. Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home is assisting the family with these arrangements. Zelda was born April 23, 1917 in Decatur the daughter of Oliver F. and Mary J. (Bolten) Banfield. She was a devoted homemaker. She volunteered her time at Rock Springs Center, DMH Thrift Shop, and North Fork Museum from 1984-2007. She married Glenn E. Kinney in March of 1935. He preceded her in death in May of 1981.
She leaves behind her son James Kinney and wife Beverly of Decatur, foster daughter Linda Whitaker Robb of Decatur, six grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was reunited in Heaven with her parents, husband, special uncle, George Bolten, brothers, Harry, James, and Carl, and one great-grandson.
The family would like to thank Dr. Goetter and staff at Aspen Ridge especially the third floor for all the special and loving care given to Zelda. It is deeply appreciated. Also a special thanks to heather and Darenda.
