Zillah Rodgers-McKibben's Obituary
Zillah began her journey on December 4th, 1914, near the small town of Rosemond in Central Illinois. She married Paul H. McKibben in 1933 and lived in Decatur, Illinois, where they raised two daughters Virginia Bradbury, of Temecula, and Ruth Anne McBee, of Idaho. Following Paul’s death in 1963, Zillah re-located to California where she had met and married William M. Rodgers in 1967. William and Zillah lived a happy life in California and Arizona until his death in 2006, in Temecula, California.
Zillah was an accomplished artist, gardener, and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. A lover of roses, poetry, nature, and life, she was a special lady and will be missed by all who loved her.
In addition to her daughters, she leaves one sister, Esther Mallot in Phoenix, and nine grandchildren (Jennifer Dunlap, Julia Dunlap, Paula Mares, Teresa Christie, Darren Mares, Bradley Mares, Anita Mares, Kendra Mares, and Stephanie McBee), sixteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
She lived through many transitions, from the horse and buggy to the computer age – a successful, long life. Her love and legacy will be with us always.
