Our Story

Graceland Fairlawn got its start almost 100 years ago when a group of Decatur and Niantic men acquired 54 acres of land on the northwest edge of Decatur in 1919 to establish a modern perpetual care fund cemetery. While we now provide complete funeral services, these 54 acres remain home to Graceland Cemetery, some of the most beautifully landscaped grounds in the area.

Through this beauty, along with planned out and purposeful pathways and an ongoing commitment to honor those who are laid to rest here, Graceland Fairlawn continues to give families the care and comfort they need by providing families with a final resting place of beauty and peace. We furthered our ability to help the community by extending our service offerings to families through our merger with Moran & Goebel in 2011. The Moran name has been a fixture throughout Decatur and Macon counties for more than 150 years; and this relationship has only served to strengthen our ability to care for our families and provide constant and ongoing support to the communities we serve.

Whether you’ve come to us for pre-planning assistance or are here during a time of loss, our dedicated staff is here to welcome you with open arms and walk with you every step of the way.

Mr. David Goebel, Words cannot express how I feel, but I want you to know how much I appreciate your kindness to me and my family. Dean's celebration of life service was beautiful. I am so happy that Dean wanted me to call Bruce Logan. Bruce has been a friend for a long time and Dean wanted to go to the funeral home where Bruce worked. Thanks again for taking such good care of us. Sincerely
—Phyllis, Stephen, Samantha & Dylan G.
Hey Greg, I wanted to take a minute to thank you for all you did to make my Dad's service very special and meaningful. While it was a sad and stressful time you and your staff made things bearable and memorable for my family. Dad looked very good considering the condition he was in. Thanks for everything. It was top notch.
—Kurt K.
Daisy, Chelsea & Staff, Thank you so much for your assistance with our dad's funeral. We very much appreciated your patience & kindness during this difficult time.
