Frances Eileen (Printy) Evans, 90, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2018, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Frances Eileen was born on March 28, 1927, in Decatur, the daughter of Eston M. and Azalea (Beal) Printy. She graduated from Decatur High class of 1945 and attended Brown Business School. She worked in downtown Decatur at Reed’s Shoe Store and Stewart Dry Goods.
Frances married Jack Evans on May 29, 1949, at First Lutheran Church in Decatur. The newlyweds moved to Chicago where they had two children: Douglas Allen born in 1950 and Jacqueline Frances in 1953.
They soon returned to Decatur where Frances became a Cub Scout Den Mother, a Brownie Scout Leader, and involved with First Lutheran women’s circles. She was a fifty year member and past president of the Ladies of the Grand Army of the Republic.
Frances and Jack purchased Fixmasters Repair Shop in 1969, which she managed for over 35 years.
Frances was the fourth of the six closely knit “Printy Sisters” and she enjoyed spending time with Mary Jane, Betty, Dorothy, Helen, Peggy and all their families. Frances was also close to her dear cousin Betty Lou Brown.
Frances is survived by her children Doug (Terri) Evans, Jackie (Dan) Evans-Moser, grandchildren Clover (Tom) Kincheloe, Casey (Lauren Jarrold) Evans, Cole and Hanna Moser, and great-grandchildren Avani and Hugo Kincheloe, and Jack Wilder Evans; sister Peg Shulke, brothers-in-law Dave Shulke and Bob Roberts, step-sister-in-law Wanda Carr, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-eight years, Jack Evans; her sisters, Mary Jane Farris, Betty Nowlin, Dorothy Kaufman, Helen Roberts; step-sisters, Evelyn, Rachel, Virginia, Mary; and step-brother, Larry Carr.

Services to celebrate Frances’ life will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at the funeral home before the service. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to First Evangelical Lutheran Church 250 W Decatur St, Decatur, IL 62521.
