Jessica Powell Munsell

Jessica L. Munsell (Powell), 59, of Cerro Gordo, IL, went home to be with her Lord and Savior April 16th, 2017.
Jessica was born January 15th. 1958 in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Alfred D. Powell and Scampy (Culumber) Powell.
Jessica was a loving, kind, compassionate person who loved the Lord with all her heart, and had a tremendous love for everyone and animals, especially her five cats. Who she often referred to as her “children”.
Jessica is survived by her brothers Fred Powell of Decatur, Bruce Powell of Decatur, and Mark (Monica) Powell of Dalton City, and several nieces and nephews. Jessica was proceeded in death by her husband (Steve) and parents.
In honoring Jessica’s wishes, the family will host a memorial to celebrate her life at1:00 PM Friday April 28, 2017 in Friends Creek Conservation Area Camp Ground in the Large Pavilion in Argenta. In Jessica’s memory, a memorial contribution may be made to the Macon County Animal Control and Care Center of Decatur Illinois.

  1. So sorry for your loss, I went to school for several years with your sister. She was always sweet and enjoyed being her friend. Talk to her at the class reunion get together. So glad she came. She will look be missed.

    It has been so many years since I have seen any of you, including Jessica, although she and I communicated quite frequently for a while after she broke her ankle and contacted me to ask questions as I had had a very similar break the year before. I remember all of you so fondly, especially from the summer your mom had me babysit for you while she was working. Jessica's unexpected death breaks my heart, but I know that she is in heaven with our Lord and at peace. She, and you, will always be in my prayers. May God bless and keep you always.
