Decatur-Larry A. Prince, 75, of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2017 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Larry was born March 4, 1942 in McLeansboro, Illinois, the son of Floyd and Helen Faulkner. He worked as a machine repairman at Caterpillar retiring after thirty-three years of service. Larry was a member of Central Christian Church and the Warrensburg Sportsman’s Club and was an avid hunter. He married Gail Jackson May 18, 1963. They shared over fifty-four years together.

Larry is survived by his wife Gail, children Michelle (Paul) Yeager of St. Louis, Missouri and K. Ryan (Tammy) Prince of Decatur, sisters Louise Campbell and Lois Jean Cox, and grandchildren Alec Wise and Christofer, Bayleigh, and Meckenzie Yeager all of St. Louis and Gentry Prince of Decatur.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ron Prince, and sister Delores Schimming.

The family will be hosting a memorial service to celebrate Larry’s life at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Central Christian Church, 650 W William St, Decatur, with Rev. Michael E. Karunas officiating. Private family burial will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Central Christian Church or the Cancer Care Specialists of Central Illinois.
