Shawn & Tammy, Candy, Tim, Rhonda and Eric, I am very sorry to hear of the loss of your Mom. This is May of 2014, but I just now came across this news and wanted to acknowledge your Mom. She was a wonderful lady, I spent so much time at your house on North Street as a kid in Decatur that I felt like one of the family. Of course I was especially close to Shawn & Tammy, I hung out with them almost everyday. I know Kelly felt the same way, as him and Tim were tight. If you were looking for either Kelly or Karen, you could most likely find us doing something over at the Pinkewich house. It was the hang out spot to be. Weather playing, working or eating at your house it was always fun and always an adventure. I remember the pool your Dad put up in the backyard and many, many more memories of your Mom and Dad, and the entire family that was a significant part of my early growing up years. I remember you Mom's antiques and all the pretty fine china she stored in glass hutches. I remember her friendly smiling face, I remember her always happy and cheerful, "yoo-hoo" greeting. She never seemed to mind all the kids running around in her house, she welcomed all with open arms. I have a ton of fond memories about each and every one of you. I pray that the memories of your Mothers love, stays with you always. Your friend, Karen (Shirley) Buck, Longwood, FL
Cousin "Atty"…yes, she will always be remembered as "Atty" by myself and wife Marty…most of the "shared Memories" and condolences seem to be addressing her "post Paulie" years and these, no doubt, are all so well-deserved and appropriate. However, as a cousin, born in the year in which she graduated from Nokomis Township High School (1939), I learned early on in my life , from her and Paulie after they "settled" in Nokomis in the early 50's, about life, love, and "good times"…Atty and Paulie gave me so many good "growing up" moments and their generosity of home and help was. if not immeasurable, certainly went beyond the norm for and to a Cousin. To me, they filled the roles of an older sister and brother. In later years, It was a pleasure to have had a visit from Atty and Bob to our home in Temple Terrace, FL during one of their winter sojourns to the Sunshine State, and a thoroughly enjoyable time was spent by Marty and I at their home in Petersburg several years later. Thru the years we kept in touch most of the time via Christmas cards and we were kept up-to-date about the growing size and various "happenings" of her "extended" family. She truly was blessed with a long and eventful life and it is somewhat comforting to know that she will now be put to rest, one which all will eventually receive, with Paulie…may both sleep well, together, forever…Cousin "Sonny" (Jaros), Temple Terrace, FL
Hello Shawn and Tammy and the rest of the family. I saw the wonderful write up your family provided to the Observer for your mother's obituary. I send my condolences. I remember your mother from a time I stayed overnight when I was in early high school. It was a wonderful sleep over and your mother toasted pumpkin seeds. I am so glad she had such a wonderful life. Rusty and Bob were our neighbors for many years and we had coffee together many mornings at each other's houses. Rusty was a wonderful friend.. I can still hear her calling "yoo-hoo" as she came in the door. We shared a lot of gardening advice as we both loved flowers. I loved her then and still do. Jo Clutts
I will always remember Athy when she would come to visit my great grandma Helen Bell and her famous "wooowhoo" when she came inside. She was one of the nicest people I have ever met and she will be missed dearly. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.– Kris Hulcher
My heartfelt condolences to Rhonda,Candy,Tim and the rest of your Family. Paul Parkison
Dear Rhonda, Candy, Tim, Tammy, Shawn, and Eric,You Mom was a treasure! Everything about her as she is described on this wall sounds just like the Mrs. Pinky that I knew. Not many would have enjoyed their days with all of the kids and then bunches of neighbor kids there in your house too. The house was laden with antiques and she still seemed to enjoy the kids, no worries about the antiques. I remember the zest for life that she had and how she loved all the kids and even loved to tease them. She took care of Pinky and was in love with life.Thinking of all of you. You were fun North Street neighbors and I was glad we were all friends.Julie Fluss Ubbenga Enumclaw, Washington
Jack and I are sending our deepest sympathies for your loss. Yes, Jack has wonderful memories of your mom and always shares them with big smile!Your family will be in our thoughts and prayers.Jack and Annette DeClerk, Ormond Beach, FL
