Athanasia L. "Rusty" Pinkewich Lowder's Obituary
Athanasia (Rusty) Pinkewich Lowder, 91,Lake Petersburg died on Thursday January 30, 2014 with her family by her side. Rusty was born Februay 26th, 1922 in Nokomis, daughter of Suzie Jendzeloski Jaros and John Jaros. Mom had a wonderful, full life, laughing, and dancing. In her younger days, she lived at Chicago Beach and enjoyed horse-back riding with her friends. There she met the love of her life, Pinky Paul Pinkewich, the Russian. She became the proud mother of six children, Rhonda Ray, Candy Bobbitt (Mike), Tim Pinkewich of Decatur, Tam Fanale (Tom), Shawn Glazebrook (Ron Boehm) of Springfield, and Eric Pinkewich (Debbie) of Winter Springs, Florida. Grandchildren, Smitty, Mikie, Corey, Kelly, Lindsey, Theresa, Mark, Sarah, Heather, Darcey, Dylan, Deanna, Colten, Aaron, Daniel, Josh Hutchcraft, and 8 great grandchildren. She also leaves her brothers John, Chicago, Clifford, Decatur, and was the matriach of numerous cousins, neices, and nephews. She worked at GE in the cage, had fun and made friends with everyone. Our house was always full of people, open to anyone that needed a “family”.
When our father died she married Robert Lowder and moved to Lake Petersburg and extened her family by four children, Bob Jr, Janny, Jaigh, Gloria and multiple members of the Jaros, Lowder clan. At the ripe age of 50, she learned how to drive, play golf, traveled, and tranformed her yard to a garden haven. When Robert died she joined a boot kickers dance troup and danced at fairs and nursing homes, she always kidded, “ I’m looking for a good one when I get old!” She loved antiques, garage sales and junking with her children, always looking for a little treasure.
She leaves us all wonderful stories and memories that will linger with us forever. Throughout Mom’s life, she prayed to baby Jesus for guidance and strength. She had a strong heart and fought to the end with one eyebrow up, red lip-lip,a contagious laugh, and graditude for everthing she had. Mom will be missed and never forgotton, she would give you a wink, a shimmy of her shoulders, and say, don’t grieve for me, make somebody laugh and dance.
She was preceeded in death by Pinky Paul, Robert Lowder, Mark Glazebrook and Jeremy Hutchcraft.
Rusty will be cremated and will join Pinky Paul in the Star of Hope Mausoleum. A celebration of her life will be at a later date.
