Beulah M. Davis' Obituary
Beulah Mildred Davis, 88, of Bloomington, IL formerly of Decatur passed away Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Heritage Health in Normal, IL.
Beulah was born on July 2, 1923 in Tilden the daughter of Harry Cecil and Mary Edith (Pierson) Dilley. She served her country proudly in the US Navy during WWII. She worked as a checker for A&P and Eisner's and retired from G.E. In retirement, she was a sales representative for Jafra. She was a member of the Church of the Brethren. She was an avid bowler, Bingo player, and loved to dance. She also loved to cook and make candies and was known for her peanut butter fudge and lemonade pie. She loved her family and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She married Robert Walter Davis on April 7, 1962. He preceded her in death on April 18, 1989.
Surviving are her son, John Bennett (Jo Ellen) of Bloomington; daughter, Mary Kay Ford (George) of West Frankfort; step-son, Robert Walter Davis II (Bernie) of Decatur; step-daughter, Deborah Lopes of Las Vegas, NV; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, Faber R. Baldon of Taylorville; and four sisters, Margaret Holtzman of Hazelwood, MO; Erma Brown of Kincaid; Virginia Kirkendoll of Kincaid; and Geneva Thompson of Kincaid.
Services to celebrate Beulah's life will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2012 in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Entombment will be in the Star of Hope Mausoleum with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Memorials are suggested to The Alzheimer's Association.
