Decatur-Bobby Andrew Ladd Lightfoot, 77, of Decatur, passed away at 8:13 a.m. Sunday, February 27, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospital with his family by his side.
Graveside services to celebrate Bobby's life will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 3, 2011at Graceland Cemetery with military honors and the 'Flight Home' Ceremony to conclude the service. Visitation will be from 9:45-10:45 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Bobby was born December 14, 1933 in Shreveport, Louisiana, the son of Andrew Earl Ladd and Jeanette (Pettway) Lightfoot and stepfather L.E. Lightfoot. He grew up in Alexandria, Louisiana. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He graduated from LSU with a bachelors degree in electrical engineering. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans Post #17 and a member of Moose Lodge #684 in Decatur. He married Deanna Streeter June 1, 1957 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
He leaves behind Deanna his beloved wife of over fifty-three years, son Leslie Ray Lightfoot and wife Sheri of Normal, grandchildren Justin Lightfoot and wife Crystal of Normal, Shannon Brucker and husband Ben of Gridley, and Andrew Lightfoot and wife Kelly of Kansas City, Missouri, great grandchildren Meghan and Eli James Lightfoot and Renee and Michael Brucker, and siblings Dorothy Hathorn and husband Hank of Alexandria, Louisiana, Donald Ray Lightfoot and wife Alice Vidor, Texas, Kate Daemen and husband Bobby of Alexandria, Louisiana, and Leslie Carl Lightfoot and wife Jillian of Beaumont, Texas.
He was reunited in Heaven with his parents and stepfather.
