Doug was born February 17, 1964 in Decatur, the son of Leo and Mary (Camden) Quintenz. He was the owner/operator of Right on Q BBQ. Doug enjoyed barbecuing, fishing, Illini basketball, traveling, warm weather, and especially spending time with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed watching his wife sing with The Still. He married Christy Chamblin March 23, 1990.
Doug's generosity, sense of humor, and bright smile will be greatly missed by his many friends and family. He always put his family first, but seemed to have endless time and energy for his friends, church, and community.
He leaves behind Christy, his beloved wife of over twenty-one years, children, Briana Park and husband Jared and Branson Douglas Quintenz all of Decatur, parents, Leo and Mary of Decatur, sister, Teri Martin and husband John of Decatur, grandchildren, Jamie and Liam, and his dog, Lydia Marie.
He was reunited in Heaven with his niece, Cadie Martin.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Velasco at Cancer Care Specialists of Central Illinois and Dr. Linehan and the nurses and staff at Barnes-Jewish Hospital for all of their compassionate care.
Get the pool ready and spark the grill, Doug. We'll see you again.
