Charlie and my dad served together in Vietnam and remained friends after the war. I will always remember "Uncle Charlie" parking his big rig outside our house on American avenue. He would take my sister Annie and I for rides in his truck and on his "motor sickle". He also made us introduce him to our friends and Jose Hose Nose! He was a true free spirit who will be dearly missed. Our condolences go out to the family and our prayers will be with you. Rest In Peace

I lived down the street from Charlie in Lovington when I was very young. I can remember him seeing up his teepee in his backyard and letting us come over and play in it. I also remember him coming and talking to my class, I was in second grade, and bringing in tons of Native American artifacts. I remember winning one of three headdresses we made in class because of the points I earned from him coming in. He was a great man, and will be missed.
Charlie was Shannon and My Buddy. We bought his breakfast the morning of his passing. God I miss my buddy, Shannon's Singing Buddy. He called her or she called him every day. Bear misses her Charlie Bear. I grieve for his family. May you always have fond memories of Charlie.Sabres rattle. Uncle Charley, my heart is heavy for your family and the rest of us who are left behind. I do not weep for you. I know you have gone to your next rendezvous, greeted by old friends who will rejoice in your arrival. Your gifts were many and you shared them generously. Nights spent around a campfire listening to you play guitar will always be treasured memories for me. Your gift of song at my wedding was beautiful and can still bring tears to my eyes. Doksa ake waunkte!
Charley, You'll never be replaced. We have been friends for many many years and the memories you left us with will always keep a warm spot in our hearts. You were always a super great person and friend. We'll miss you greatly. Please don't pick on Chesty Puller and all the other marines while you're in haven to much. God bless and we'll miss you.Mike & Gena Ferguson
We send our condolences to Charlie's family. We knew him through Theatre 7, and remember coming to his home in Lovington to obtain some props for a Theatre 7 show. We loved his cheerful manner.Paul & Verlyn Rosenberger
