Sean to you,Gertrude,Donald, Sherri and Donna Jean and your entire family, we send our love and sympathy. We were already sadden about Harriett's passing, we (the Spences's) grew up next door to Harriett and Gertrude and Donald the entire Williamson family on Forest street on the West Side. We met Charles thru Harriett, what a great pair. Love and miss them dearly. My siblings went to school with Sean. We are praying with you and for you. Sylvia Spence-Rowe
I was friends of Charles Streaty and his family for many years; he will forever remain for me one of the truly greatest guys I've ever known. I would see him and his wife Harriet regularly at social events, and he loved walking all about his neighborhood, My favorite personal memory was the time he consoled me through a hard loss,,,,,he found a way to joke and get me laughing so hard I forgot all about my troubles for that moment! He had that gift. I'll sure miss him.

I just want to make a public record of my love for my brother "Chuck Lisa" (where he got that nickname, I'll never know). We were only a year and a month apart in age. We played all sports together and even roomed together at IU.We were big city guys growing up in Kokomo, Indiana. Everywhere we went people would say, "I knew you two had to be brothers." I guess it was that Kokomo walk which I still have after over fifty years in DC.I can't wait to play baseball again with him playing center field and me playing right field.I consider his friends my friends, So if you come to DC, give me a holler. That's the way Charles would want it. Since we were two peas in a pod, that's the way I would want it.I'm having some health issues myself, so I won't be able to make it to Decatur. Thanks for sharing your memories of "Chuck" with me.Best of luck from Richard Streaty or "daddyrick" as I was known back in the day.
I was sorry to read of Chuck's passing. We often worked together at Staley Research and I always enjoyed our discussions! Judy and I send our condolences.John Rasche
Forgot to mention that it always struck me that Charles had an "announcers" voice. Hmm … I wonder who benefited from that. ??
Condolences to the Streaty Family on the passing of Charles, and on the passing of Harriett – I didn't know until today that she passed last February. I tuned Harriett's piano 23 times between 1981 and 2010 and always felt like I was visiting family. In the early years he was seldom there, but in later years he was, or would arrive back home after playing golf. How courteously he always greeted me and then we engaged in interesting conversation. Harriett was good friends with another customer of mine, Charles and Lois Reeves, who she knew through working at Taylor Pharmacol. Charles and Harriet are a wonderful memory of my career. How fortunate I was to know them!
Sorry to learn of Chucks passing. He was a fine gentleman, an excellent researcher and a gifted athlete. It was an honor to be his friend.-Don Johnson
