Christine was a beacon of light as she touched so many people. She always had a smile even though there were many times she was inwardly struggling with a host of medical problems. Chris made anyone in her presence laugh. Many times she was even laughing at herself. Tracie and Chris became steadfast friends as well as being sisters in-laws. Chris, we know you are in good hands now as Tracie was right there waiting to take your hand and welcome you "home." It was our pleasure to have known you sweet girl. Love, Joan and Dr. Hugh
I met Christine several years ago walking out of Walgreen's, instantly we were friends. We enjoyed going to Church together, praying together and talking about God's Word. She loved Jesus so much and depended on Him in the good and not so good times. Christine loved her Mother, daughter and grandchildren and family so much and wanted God's best for them. She will dearly be missed but I know that she is with the greatest love of her life, pain free, in pure joy in His presence. I look forward to seeing my forever friend again! I will continue to pray for her loved ones. God bless each and every one of you! Shari Shuff ??
My Aunt Christine is one of the strongest women I've ever known. Her physical strength may have been fragile and weak, but was admired and known by all as a fighter who was strong and fearless and remained that way until her final breath. I admired her courage and will to keep up the fight even through all of the challenges and obstacles life would throw her way, she never gave up. But what I admired the most, is even through all of her struggles, she would still take the time to lift up your spirits and make you laugh. Making people smile and laugh is something she was good at. I am blessed to have been able to be by my Aunt's side during her final days, and I shared some funny stories from the past, and just being able to see her smile is something I will keep with me forever. It was devastating to see my Aunt Christine go and to leave this life, but I know she is in good hands and is with people who love her, like her father, my grandpa. I have so many special memories with my Aunt, a lot of laughs and good times spent together and I will miss her dearly. She may be gone from this earth, but my Aunt Chris will live on in the memories we have shared and will never be forgotten.I love you and you will always remain in my heart.XOXOTraci

My deepest sympathies for the loss of your loved one, Christine. One of "God's Best" and His Love, Light and Spirit "Dwelled Abundantly" within Christine!I was fortunate to meet her one Wednesday afternoon while arriving at First United Methodist Church where I was serving as organist. That afternoon Christine was rolling up in this wonderful contraption of a bicycle. I had never seen anything so mesmerizing! She stopped and introduced yourself and we began our journey and shared our faith and love in our Savior Jesus Christ.Christine had shared with me that she no longer attended the church I served at but she wanted to hear me play that pipe organ. So on many Wednesdays when I arrived from Springfield to Shelbyville to rehearse for the evening choir practice, Christine and I spent an hour or so in the church sanctuary as I played my heart and soul on that pipe organ for her to listen to. It was the time for meditation and healing for her from a place that she felt deep hurt from.Looking back, I know that Christine was an angel that the Lord put in my path! We helped each other! We encourage each other because we both had debilitating diseases that we lived with in pain daily! But our faith and love in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior grew stronger during these difficult times. It was wonderful to share testimony with someone else who was struggling but had chosen God's Wisdom, Will and Love to get through it! Even when she spoke about her disease and her pain she shine so brightly! She always was positive and always seeking God's direction and loving His Holy Scriptures! She was living out her faith DAILY in Jesus Christ!Eventually Christine moved to Decatur and our special time was over. I eventually moved onto another church position. But I thank God for the time I spent with Christine and being able to give her comfort and peace! And receiving the wonderful gift of God's love that she lived and shared with others!Well done good and faithful servant enter into your "Eternal Rest!" Asleep in Jesus, Christine! Until we meet in the air! Thank You God For Christine's Life and Testimonial Light! Amen!7Rusty Isaiah DownsSpringfield, IL
My heartfelt prayers of strength are sent to you and the family!Christine and I used to go earth worm "hunting" late at night after a rain! Uncle Lou would give us flashlights and make us do this so that he could go crappie fishing the next day!! We had so much fun, we would scream when we saw one and then dive onto it! Then, all muddy and laughing, we would proudly give him our bounty!!I would like to think that she and her father are watching over everyone hand holding hand..
Chris , Was the light that shined. She was always making you laugh . She was a young woman that got sick. She was always in your heart. Chris was my niece and still is. Some of her story's she would tell me had me laughing so hard. She will be missed by my family and freinds. God has been with her and she will be loved and She will be with us forever. Love you Chris . Your Aunt D.D.
Chris was in my class in Mendota … And, I'm saddened to hear this news. While I wasn't a close friend, she was indeed a classmate and some one I remember. God bless her … She is in a better place now. My sympathies to all family and to those who were close to her. She's wrapped in Jesus' arms now.
