Christine Lu Bolinger's Obituary
Decatur—Christine Lu Bolinger, an irreplaceable angel, was called home by our Christ and savior on Monday, January 11, 2016. She was taken from us by a lingering illness at the young age of 56 years.
The family will be hosting a celebration of life 2 p.m. Saturday, January 23, 2016, in Heartland Community Church, 3253 N. Brush College Rd, Decatur. Visitation will be one hour before services in the church. Her brain was donated to science to help find a cure. Graceland /Fairlawn Funeral Home are assisting the family with the arrangements. Memorials in memory of Christine may be donated to the family.
Christine was born May 15, 1959, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Lewis M. and M. Darlene Oyler. Christine’s greatest love came from her grandchildren and daughter. Her passions included her Christ and savior, bicycling, and daily morning devotions. Christine’s long struggle with her condition never kept her from doing all the things she loved to do. Her courage and will to fight remained strong as did her faith and love for God.
Surviving are her mother; daughter, Nicole Penn; beloved grandchildren, Courtney, Colton and Chloe; sister, Terra (Adam) Rohman; brothers, Douglas (Rene) Oyler and Steven T. Oyler; and several nieces and nephews.
She is peacefully preceded by her father; sister-in-law, Tracie Oyler; and Grandma Smith.
A special thank you to her mother, aunt Terra, cousins Traci and Teresa, Loyda Sheumaker, Linda Binnicker, Pastor Joe Bowman, Shari Shuff and DMH Home, Health, and Hospice team.
