Christine Ginger's Obituary
Christine Ginger, 60, passed away at her home in Decatur Il surrounded by her family on Sunday, February 27, 2022.
Christine graduated from Eisenhower High School, and Mr. John’s School of Cosmetology. Christine married the love of her life Carl W. Ginger in 1978. Professionally she worked as a home-maker, in childcare, and home care for the elderly. Chris was a member of the Red
Hat Society and also enjoyed keeping correspondence with pen pals across the world. She was passionate about helping the less fortunate and homeless, gathering and delivering supplies to the local Oasis Day Center. She was a talented artist who enjoyed creativity
and beauty. Chris started loving Jesus from childhood and continued to grow a strong faith in the Lord.
Christine had the kind of loving heart that truly knew no stranger, always desiring to help or assist in any way she could. She always knew the right time to give up on someone else: never.
Christine was especially courageous, especially compassionate, especially loving and supportive, and especially forgiving. She has been a bright light who loved to shine into the lives of other people, even through her own pain and struggles, inspiring others to do the
same.
She loved spending time with family and friends, particularly treasuring moments with her precious grandchildren.
Christine is survived by her husband, Carl Ginger Sr.; mother, Norma Wooten; sons, Carl William Ginger Jr. and Tony Christian Ginger; daughter, Casey Dey (Matt) Baldwin; brother, James Leon Wooten; sisters, Constance Sue (Dan) Callan and Regina Watson; grandchildren, Dakota, Allija, Emma, Robert,
Moses and Kate; sister-friends, Sheryl and Triece as well as numerous extended family and friends.
Christine was preceded in death by her brothers, Jerry Dale Wooten and Mark Edward Wooten.
In lieu of flowers it was Chris’s wish that donations be made to Oasis Day Center at 243 W Cerro Gordo St, Decatur, IL 62522.
A visitation will be held for Christine at the New Beginnings Church of God on Thursday, March 3, 2022 from 5:00-7:00p.m. A funeral Service will be held also at the New Beginnings Church of God on Friday March 4, 2022 at 10:a.m.
