Decatur-Clarence F. 'Ike' Runyen, 87, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, September 29, 2012 in his home.
Memorial visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Saturday, October 6, 2012 in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Family requests casual attire. Memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor's choice.
Clarence was born August 23, 1925 in Maroa, the son of Clarence Roscoe and Emmer Lee (Feutz) Runyen. He proudly served his country in U.S. Army during World War II. He was a maintenance man with Sol Tick retiring after forty years of service. He married Viola Hawkins August 9, 1947. They had a loving marriage of sixty-five years.
He was an amazing husband father and grandfather. He took great pride and enjoyment in his family. He loved fishing, camping, feeding the birds, and going to auctions. He was a very skilled man who could fix anything.
He leaves behind his wife Viola, daughters, Karen (Steve) Thrall, Sally Brennan, Valerie (Chuck) Jenkins, Becky (Alan) Graff, grandchildren Angie Patch, Lisa Bruner, Wendy Brennan, Leslie Brennan, Joe Brennan, Thera Green, Ashley Shriver, Molly Graff, Jon Graff, and seventeen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Edward, Elmer, and Bernard, sisters Alberta, Naomi, Pearl, Deloris, four infant sisters, and son-in-law Jerry Brennan.
