Decatur-Daniel L. Wiggins, 64, of Decatur, passed away at 9:48 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at St. Mary’s Hospital with his family by his side. Services to celebrate Daniel's life will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 22, 2010 at Graceland/ Read Obituary

Until we meet again, Danny. I've known you since I was just a toddler and had my first memories. I never thought of you as an "uncle;" I just thought of you as family. And the best thing, every time I saw you, you were always smiling and laughing, making life fun. And you always welcomed family like they were the cream of the crop, like you had just hit the jackpot. Thank you for always making us feel like the most special and luckiest people alive. You are already missed so much and what a welcome home heaven must be having for you right now. Thank you for being a pall bearer for my father and my grandmother and for serving our country when it wasn't such a popular thing to do. I love you, Danny and I will miss you until its my turn. I will always have fond memories of Danny. He was a caring neighbor to us when we lived next door when our children were little and growing up. He would be willing to help in any way he could. I remember when there was a death in our family, Danny was a single parent at the time, but he was the first one to bring food. He brought GodfatherÃ?¢ââ??‰â??¢s PizzaÃ?¢ââ??‰â??¢s. They were appreciated so much by the house full of people. He also helped fix our lawn mower and cut my grass when my mower wasnÃ?¢ââ??‰â??¢t working. Always willing to help in any way needed. I will always remember his sense of humor and laugh. He had a heart of gold and was always so kind. The world could use more people like Danny. My thoughts and prayers go out to Ilene, Michelle, Jamie and their families.
