David Russell Fyke's Obituary
David Russell Fyke, 79, of Decatur, Illinois, passed away April 15, 2023, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, Illinois.
David was born in Decatur on April 13, 1944, the son of Russell and Marie (Mintler) Fyke. He proudly served in the United States Army. He later worked for Caterpillar for many years as a Public Relations specialist. David was a faithful member of First Lutheran Church in Decatur. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He will be remembered as a very caring, giving, and devoted uncle.
David is survived by his sister Linda; niece Lara (Jimmy); nephew Bret (Jill); great-nephews Jackson, Harrison, and Anderson; and cousins Lori and Barbara. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation for David will be held from 9am to 10am on Tuesday, April 25, at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 10am in the funeral home. Burial in Mt. Gilead Cemetery will follow the service.
