David is also survived by his five brothers: Timothy (Nancy) of Atlanta, GA; Joe (Suzan) of Oreana, IL; Paul E. Sr. (Vicky) of Broken Arrow, OK; Michael of Tulsa, OK; and Jeffrey of Baytown, TX. David graduated from Stephen Decatur High School in 1968 as the first student totally blind to complete all twelve grades in the Decatur Public School system. He graduated from Millikin University in 1973 and completed his Masters of Arts in Education at National Louis University in 1980. He enjoyed playing chess and was an avid sports fan. David enjoyed listening to sports programs on the radio stations: Jacksonville, St. Louis and Chicago. Though he preferred to listen to the St. Louis Cardinals, Rams and Blues he was also known to follow the Chicago Cubs, Bears and Black Hawks. And if none of those teams were playing he would search for any sports on the air. He also was a fan of music and would have his musically talented friends come perform private concerts in his home. David spent a lot of his later time at home enjoying conversations with friends, family, and others on the phone.
