David Gene Mesnard's Obituary
Our beloved David Mesnard, 72, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2018.
David was born David Gene Mesnard on March 10, 1946, in Decatur, IL, the son of Norman H. and Margaret (Taylor) Mesnard. He married Jo Ann Compton on August 24, 1965 in Decatur, IL. He retired from Intermet (Wagner Casting) in 2005 after 39 years of service.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, sons, Jeffrey T. Mesnard and wife Ursula of Decatur, IL, Kenneth D. Mesnard and wife Jennifer of Greenville, IL and three grandchildren, Chloe of Decatur and Kendall and Quinn of Greenville, IL, He leaves his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Shirley and Tony Benner and Donna and Tom Reeve of Decatur, IL. Also, he leaves his good friend and fishing buddy since grade school, Lee Boyko.
David was preceded in death by his parents.
David enjoyed his family and especially his grandchildren, He enjoyed visiting the many Carribean Islands with his wife Jo Ann over the years and they also enjoyed trips with in the U.S. He enjoyed the many Canadian fishing trips with Lee. At David’s request, he has donated his body to the AGA of Illinois.
The family would like to thank Dr. Mario Velasco and his staff at Cancer Care and the nurses and cna’s at Fairhaven Christian Village. Cremation and family graveside services will be held at a later date.
