I would like to send my condolences to the family of Betty Butts, who was a good friend of my parents, Bud and Bette Livesey. Betty paid my mother a surprise visit at Tanglewood a few years ago and we enjoyed reminiscing about old times when Al and Betty and my parents were active in the Elks and played golf often during the summers. They also went on several nice vacation trips throughout the West. It was a great friendship.

Debbie and family,I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. That is such a large wound and void in anyone's life to lose a mother.I certainly hope that all of the arrangements flow smoothly. I know if you have anything to do with the arrangements, Debbie, they will. At Covenant, if there is anything we can do to ease your burden and help carry your load, just let us know.Something that has brought great comfort to 'my Debbie' and me are the thoughts at Revelation 21:4 that "death will be no more" and 1 Corinthians 15:26, "the last enemy, death, is to be brought to nothing". And a favorite: John 5:28, 29, "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out…" There is so much comfort from the scriptures that can help us with grief and healing.
