Elwin Ray Hogan's Obituary
Decatur-Elwin Ray Hogan, 71, of Decatur passed away at 4:56 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2011 in his home.
Services to celebrate Elwin's life will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday, August 1, 2011 at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Mary Queen of Angels Mausoleum in Graceland Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Mt. Zion Christian Church.
Elwin was born July 14, 1940, in Shelbyville, Illinois the son of Carney and Iva (Miller) Hogan. He was previously employed as a Chief Draftsman with Homer L. Chastain and Associates from January of 1957-March of 1980. He then was employed as a Plant Engineer at ADM from March of 1980-January of 2006. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Christian Church where he served as an elder and Sunday school teacher. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and writing poetry. He married Joan Campbell April 7, 1962.
He leaves behind Joan, his beloved wife of over forty-nine years, mother, Iva of Decatur, sons, Todd Hogan of Decatur and Scott Hogan and wife Teresa of Normal, daughter, Laura Guy and husband Jeff of Granger, Indiana, grandchildren, Carmin, Jacob, Zachary, Nicholas and Kayla Hogan, and Claire and Richard Guy, sister, Carol Logan and husband James of Decatur, and brother, Craig Hogan of Decatur.
He was reunited in Heaven with his father.
