I remember Mrs. Beams from the many years our family attended First Baptist Church. She was always smiling and very friendly. She will be missed.
Sorry for your family's loss. I can remember my mom, Mary Wickline more than once commenting how she enjoyed knowing and working with Emma Lou when they worked at Dr. Ruble's office.
So sorry to hear about Aunt Emma's passing! She was always a warm, caring lady–I don't think I have a single memory of her when she wasn't smiling.Aunt Emma and Uncle Chuck once provided me a memorable example of how small the world can be. Rob and I and Deborah (9 months old at the time) went to the wedding of Rob's sister's roommate in Centralia in June of 1983. We were in the process of getting Deborah into the stroller when a couple stepped out of a car that had just parked on the other side of the parking lot. I saw them start walking toward the church, and I remember thinking, "Wow, I have to tell Uncle Chuck about this, that fellow over there is a ringer for him!" As the couple got closer, though, I realized with a start that it WAS Uncle Chuck! He saw me and recognized me at almost the same instant. Uncle Chuck and Aunt Emma turned to walk toward us, and the dumbfounded "what-are-you-doing-here?" looks on our faces must have been priceless. We were there as friends of the bride…and it turned out that the groom, whose last name was Richardson, was a nephew to Aunt Emma! She will be missed.
