Emma Lou Beams' Obituary
DECATUR ' Emma Lou Richardson Beams went to be with the Lord on Monday August 27th. She was born on April 12th, 1931 in Springfield, IL. She graduated from Lanphier High School in Springfield, in January of 1949. She had an associate's degree in accounting from Richland Community College. She was a member of the DAR. She worked for ADM, retiring in the 1980's. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Decatur
In recent years she enjoyed quilting and traveling with her husband, Charles O. Beams. They were married in June of 1950. They recently celebrated their 62 wedding anniversary. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband Charles, daughter Cathie Beams Mussatto and son in-law James Mussatto of Leawood, KS, daughter Cynthia Beams Perez and son in-law Peter Perez of White Water WI, son Charles D. Beams of Decatur, son James E. Beams and daughter in-law Paula Beams of Decatur. She is survived by her 8 grandchildren, Ted and Jessica Mussatto, Pete and Lisa Perez, Colton and Mindy Beams, and Sunny and Jim Beams.
She was preceded in death by her parents, eldest sister, and infant son William Collins Beams.
Her life celebration will be held starting at 9am Friday, August 31, 2012 in First Baptist Church 1320 Arbor Dr. Decatur and service at 10:30 am followed by burial in Graceland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to First Baptist Church of Decatur.
