Francis H. Thompson's Obituary
Decatur- Francis H. (Babe) Thompson, 92, of Decatur passed away Thursday, November 3, 2011 at Decatur Memorial Hospital with his loving family by his side.
A graveside service to celebrate the life of Babe will take place at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 7, 2011 at Graceland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to DMH Hospice or to Faith in Action of Decatur.
Francis was born August, 20, 1919 in Findlay, Illinois the son of Vern and Neva (Hinton) Thompson. Francis proudly served his country in the US Army during both WWII and the Korean War. He retired from Wagner’s Casting Company and also retired as a Camp Ranger for the Robert Faries Boy Scout Camp. He married Helen L. Rozanski July 21, 1942 in St. Louis, Missouri.
He is survived by his wife; daughter, Patricia Thompson-Curry of Decatur; brother, Ronald (Janice) Thompson of Leavenworth, KS, and several nieces and nephews.
Francis was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Bobby Thompson.
The family would like thank Dr. D. Patel and the staff at McKinley Court, DMH 4th floor staff, and to DMH Hospice for the care and kindness they showed Francis, and to express their sincere gratitude to their wonderful family and neighbors.
