I’m so sorry to hear of George’s passing. Betty and George were my neighbors for many years. No one could ask for better neighbors. If I needed help with anything he would be there with a smile on his face. In particular when I first moved in, he was a big help to me when I was going through a very tough time in my life. Rest in Peace my friend, if anyone deserves it, it is you.
So very sorry for your loss – as you are aware, I have known George and the family for many years, living a short distance from them on 121 which is now the Krekel’s restaurant. My first memory was George loaning me, a junior in high school, his 60 Pontiac convertible to drive the King and Queen in the parade at the home coming football game. Many, many, more good memories from times past including working with George at Caterpillar. A truly fine, always distinguishably dressed, gentleman.

Sharon and I was so surprised to hear of George’s passing. He was a great friend and a fantastic manager at Cat. I worked with him or for him for many years at Caterpillar. I’m sure he will be missed by friends and his whole family. But I know he is now with the Lord and his beautiful wife and no longer in any type of pain. May he Rest In Peace.????
I’m very sorry to hear of George’s death. I worked with George at Caterpillar. He was very well liked and respected. Years ago, I bought a 14' wood speed boat from George that he had built; fastest boat on Lake Decatur! I also ran into the back of his car when we were all hurrying to leave work. All it did was knock down his tail pipes that were extending 12? behind the bumper … he wasn’t happy about that! George was partially responsible for my success at Caterpillar; he set a good example and was a good role model. George will be missed by many.
