Gloria Martin's Obituary
Gloria Davis Martin, 90, of Decatur went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 7, 2016 in Hickory Point Christian Village.
Gloria was born on October 13, 1925 in Decatur the daughter of Earl B. and Inez (Fisher) Davis. She served her country proudly in the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and a retired school nurse from MacArthur High School.
Surviving are her sons, Kevin G. Martin (Terri) of Wyoming, MI; Eric F. Martin (Mary) of Decatur, IL; daughter, Karen Shiflett (Vince) of Decatur; brother, Eugene Davis (Mary) of Rolling Meadows, IL; sisters, Sybil Foster of Decatur; Phyllis Roh of Jenison, MI; 7 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, William Davis, and one great-granddaughter.
Services to celebrate God’s gift of eternal life for Gloria will be 12 Noon on Friday March 11, 2016 in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. The family will receive friends from 11 AM to 12 Noon Friday at the church. Private family burial will take place in Graceland Cemetery with military rights conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Memorials are suggested to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or New Life Pregnancy Center.
