I am so saddened to hear of your loss. The Dial family attended church with Harriett. My father in law Keith always called her "Shorty", but she was truly tall in character. Harriett was a great encouragement to me in first trying to sing publicly. My favourite duet was with Harriett at Emmanuel. She will be greatly missed, but I know she is enjoying a tremendous reunion right now with a multitude of friends and family. God bless and comfort you all.
We had the privilege of working with Harriett at The Good Samaritan Inn once a month preparing and serving a hot meal for anyone who was hungry. It wasn’t the current location. It was on North Water Street at that time and was not nearly as spacious as the current building. Harriett was such a hard worker and always had such a wonderful and caring attitude, not only as she dealt with the clients, but as she interacted with her fellow volunteers. We have so many wonderful memories from our time together at Forsyth United Methodist Church, too. May she rest in eternal peace. Steve & Cheryl Bingamon
Remembering Aunt Harriett always brings a smile to my heart. One spunky lady that was a delight. Fondly remember when she and Reva visited us in Fairfax, Va. We had such a good time. This is Ellen Berger. I knew Harriett from Garfield, both as a student from Kindergarten through 6th grade and then as a teacher. She knew my parents and sisters Janice and Sally, and my brother David. She was at my Mom’s visitation in 2015. Extremely efficient at her job but, not always as serious as she let everyone believe! So many great memories! Sorry for your loss! I know she will be greatly missed!!
