Irma (Collins) Wright, 87, of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. Irma was born on August 21, 1925 the daughter of Virgil and Edna (Allen) Collins. She graduated from Strasburg High School, Read Obituary
One year ago today, in about an hour from now my mom passed away. I am amazed at how fast it seems that time has gone by. I start each morning looking at the frame of several photos I have of her on the shelf above my bed. Her smile is gentle just like she was. This morning I am having a cup of coffee in her memory. Over the past 7 years before her death we shared a cup almost every morning. I miss her so much but I know there will come a day when I see her again in heaven.
I remember Irma with great love and fond memories as she welcomed an awkward and troubled teen into her home as one of her own. Her children were all amazing and full of grace. They are all a true testimony of her legacy. She was an amazing woman! My sincere condolences to Todd and the rest of the family.

Dear Family of Irma's: What a special mother you had. I didn't know Irma very long but the short time that I did she was a very sweet and special friend of mine. I would always look forward to Wednesday night knowing that Brad and Irma would be joining the group for dinner somewhere. You can't imagine the problems of the world that we could solve while eating dinner. A Wednesday night doesn't go by without thinking about our dinners out together, I will miss those nights a lot. When I would be a patient in St.Mary's Irma would always stop by and see me if she was working that day and she would always have a special candy bar in her pocket and of course it was something with chocolate. Irma would tell me that she brought me my medicine. She also would tell me that chocolate would fix anything. She was always more concerned about the other guy and how he was doing than herself. I will miss you so much my dear friend.
