James "Doug" Douglas Brewer's Obituary
James Douglas Brewer, 52, of Decatur, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2015, at his home.
Doug was born July 29, 1963 in Decatur to James Leon and Carol Anne (Workman) Brewer. He worked for 4-E’s Trees for many years. He was a member of the NRA and he was a record holder for Pope & Young. He lived to hunt and fish. Doug loved rock and roll music and was very involved in the local music scene which included RoxZoff, Cheap Thrills and Mistress.
He is survived by his long time companion of 23 years, Tina Waddington of Decatur; his mother, Carol Brewer of Decatur; his father, James (Patsy) Brewer of Vandalia; two sons, Douglas Brewer of Decatur and Jared (Alana)Brewer of Arthur; two step-sons, Johnathon Bunton (Amanda) of Decatur and Joshua Waddington (Mari) of Bethany; a step-daughter, Stephanie (Zachary) Kater of Kewanee; his brother, David (Kerrie) Brewer of Decatur; two half-brothers, Jimmy (April) Brewer of Altamont and Denver Brewer of Vandalia; two half-sisters, Judy (Speed) Dilley of Brownstown and Kelly (Brian)Robinson of St. Claire, MO; eight grandchildren, Breanna, Brandon, Clara, Gwenevere, Brooklynn, Cooper, Corbin and Vanessa.
Services to celebrate the life of Doug Brewer will be 10 a.m. Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family to be designated later.
