James E. Rambo's Obituary
Decatur – James E. “Jim” Rambo, 77, of Decatur, Passed away at 7:05 am Saturday, March 14, 2009 at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Services celebrating Jim’s life will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home. The family request casual attire. Interment will be at Harristown Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent to the American Heart Association or to Heartland Community Church. Jim was born on May 9, 1931 in Decatur, the son of Wade and Emma (Monska) Rambo. He married Glenda Gass on October 25, 1957 in Decatur. She preceded him in death on December 25, 1994. Jim proudly served his country in the Air Force during the Korean War. He retired from the ADM West Plant with over 30 years of dedicated service. His hobbies included show cars and he regularly attended classic car shows and stock car races. Jim loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are his three sons: Michael (Julie) Rambo of Argenta, Rod (Shiela) Rambo of Macon, and Wade (Amy) Rambo of Decatur, four grandchildren: Zachary Rambo, Jordan Rambo, Morgan Rambo, and Jacob Rambo.
He was reunited in heaven with his wife: Glenda, parents, two brothers, and one sister.
