James J. Rogers' Obituary
Decatur-James Joseph Rogers, 88, of Decatur, passed away Wednesday June 5, 2013 in St. Mary's Hospital surrounded by his loving family following a short illness.
He was born to Pearl and Delmar Rogers on May 4, 1925. He married Prudence Fiorucci on April 16, 1948. He was in the heating and cooling industry his entire life and was a successful salesman. James was a compassionate and loving man who touched many lives and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Prudence and their three children. His oldest child Paul and his daughter-in-law Jane (Macko); daughter Patty McNulty and son Phillip. Also surviving are three grandchildren; Matthew and wife Elizabeth, Andrew and wife Ulara and Jessica and husband Chris Kant; great grandchildren, Kate and Ruby Rogers and Lilly and Scarlett Kant; two loving brothers, Delmar and wife Evon Rogers and Howard and wife Maxine Rogers; two loving sisters, Barbara Van Pelt and Ruby Barnard; two special sisters in law, Mary Long and Ann Robb, and many other nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by brother, Raymond; sistersBetty and Patricia; and six brothers in law.
Services to celebrate James's life will be 11am Saturday, June 8, 2013in Central Christian Church 650 W. William Street. Visitation will be 1 hour before at the church. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery.
