Jeanne Cheryle Creek's Obituary
Jeanne Cheryle Creek, 88, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Jeanne was born January 20, 1928, in Chicago, to Irving E. and Nona E. (Wolfe) Sommers. She married William E. Creek on November 11, 1951, in Chicago. He passed September 13, 1983. Jeanne worked at WILL-AM-FM-TV for many years until she retired. She loved playing card and board games, the harp and most of all shopping.
She is survived by her daughter, Terrianne (Daven) Eller of Decatur; daughter-in-law, Julie Creek of Champaign; five grandchildren, Nona (Chad) Blades, Mary(Brandon) Poe, Cydney, Zane and Tristan Creek; three great-grandchildren, Ellis Blades, Darrell and Atticus Poe.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William; her son, William “Jeff” Creek and two sisters, Peggy and Joyce.
The family has chosen to have a celebration of life for Jeanne at a later date. Private family burial will be in Camp Butler Cemetery in Springfield with her husband.
