Kenneth Edward Brousil, 83, passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2025, in Decatur, IL.
He was born in Chicago, IL, on August 30, 1941, to the late Joseph and Marie Brousil.
Ken served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged, he began a career as a commercial electrician.
He married Polly Ann Traylor in 2003, after many months of long-distance dating between Chicago and Decatur. They went on to enjoy the next 22 years together. For six years they lived on the island of Saint Croix, enjoying the beach and taking several cruises together before deciding it was time to move back to Illinois.
Ken and Ann landed in Maroa, buying an old farmhouse and making it their dream home. When they weren’t planting, they liked to spend time golfing or trying their luck at the casino. The pair lived there for as long as they were able to keep up with the land, eventually making the move to Decatur.
